5.5 Attaining Consensus

Ownership of an implemented business contingency plan must reside with the team or organisation for which that BC plan has been written. Furthermore, this ownership should be encouraged and even impelled from the outset of the BC planning process.

Draft plans should, therefore, be circulated, by the BC co-ordinator, to management, business unit heads and key staff. Everyone should be encouraged to contribute to the process of agreeing the final BC plans.

Comment should be invited from all staff, and everyone should be given an opportunity to visit the recovery site.

Essential BC plan information, such as the recovery team organisation chart, site route maps and recovery desk assignment, should be posted on the company's intranet pages.
