3.7 Building a Targeting Strategy


If it is considered impossible or undesirable to develop BC plans for the whole company at the same time, a targeting technique may be used, to phase the work over a longer time period.

Targeting can be on the basis of 'highest profit' or 'highest risk', or most vulnerable business processes, etc.

Keep the enthusiasm of the main board by initially targeting favourite business units, often the highest earning areas of the company (see also Section 2.1 - Securing Main Board Sponsorship and Support).
