2. Establishing the Contingency Planning Project


This section describes techniques for obtaining senior management backing for bc planning. Middle managers and key staff will always have revenue-earning tasks which take precedence over a BC planning project, unless senior management award it a clear priority level in the normal business activity.

After senior management sponsorship has been awarded to the project, a BC planning methodology should be developed, or chosen from the many alternatives which are available - in books, software packages and websites.

Planning Methodology

A planning methodology is a formally structured set of guidelines for the development of business contingency plans.
