6.2 Incorporating Salvage Procedures

MSTA methodology includes a 'salvage' assignment. The reason for this is that security at the 'disaster' site must be assured as part of the recovery operation. If access to the disaster site is allowed and is achievable, a specially selected 'salvage' team should ensure the security of vaults and safes and make video, photographic and audio records of damaged and non-damaged areas.

Pre-marked site maps, showing the location of sensitive or important items, should be available to the salvage team.
