8.2 Monitoring Functions of the Contingency Co-ordinator

In organisations in excess of one thousand staff, business contingency co-ordination will be a full time job. In smaller organisations, the work can be assigned to a line manager.

The business contingency monitoring functions include:

  • Scheduling and conducting periodic plan maintenance and testing.
  • BC plan documentation distribution and staff training.
  • Ensuring that changes in organisation structure and IT equipment and software are assessed for possible impact on the bc plans.
